Small Dog's employees have a wide range of authorship and editorial experience, among them a Master's degree in English and a former technical writer for an international computer hardware company.  We can take your rough texts, product brochures, etc. and turn it into polished web copy. Give us information; we'll give you text. Or maybe you already have text and just need to have a professional eye to check the grammar and spelling. Whatever the case, we can help.

We can help edit or refine your content regardless of whether or not we're also making your website -- and our services certainly aren't limited to web-related texts.  We can also help you with your sales brochures, press releases, product sheets, and so forth.

Please note that we are not lawyers and can not write or assist with legal documents such as contracts, wills, etc.

- Content Creation -

Small Dog can create new content based upon raw information.  In this scenario, you tell us what you need written (e.g. a product information sheet), give us any necessary information, and we'll create the written content.  The 'necessary information' varies depending on what is being written about, and what manner of 'tone' you wish the material to have.  Content creation, like our web design services, begins with a free initial consultation to determine how and if Small Dog can best meet your needs.

Small Dog does not do independant research when making content.  All necessary facts and figures must be provided by you, the client.  We handle the grammar, spelling, and stylistic decisions necessary to turn it from 'facts and figures' into clean, readable, informative content.

- Content Editing -

If you have already written content but wish to have it reviewed for spelling, grammar, clarity, or flow, we can help!  We perform proof-editing on documents of any length or subject.  We cannot, however, perform fact checking.  That is, we can proof-edit your article on genetically-engineered foods, but we cannot verify whether the claims you make in this article are true or false.  Only a qualified subject matter expert (a specialist in the field over which you are writing) can perform quality fact-checking.

- Language -

Small Dog works primarily in standard American English.  While the vast majority of texts written in American English are readable and understandable to any speaker of English world-wide, there are minor differences in spelling and vocabulary which may alert the reader as to the text's geographical origins.  For example, bespoke is a common word in British English but almost unknown in America; the British spellings colour and theatre are rendered as color and theater in America, and so forth.
